RWM 2008 Preview Release
Professional development and engagement top the bill on the CIWM stand
The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) will be promoting the benefits of professional membership at the RWM 08 exhibition in Birmingham, with free affiliate membership up to 31st December 2008 for visitors signing up on the stand (1740).
“With the rapid pace of change in the waste industry, there’s never been a better time to join,” says CIWM deputy chief executive Chris Murphy. “As the industry’s recognised professional body, the CIWM is a key consultee on waste management issues and works closely with government agencies, delivery bodies, and industry and stakeholder groups. The involvement and expertise of our members plays a vital role in ensuring that the CIWM uses its body of knowledge to influence the business practices, government policy and legislative framework governing our sector.
“We are also offering a raft of new training courses, professional development and networking opportunities, and preferential rates for members attending CIWM events, including two planned for Autumn 2008 on waste prevention and communications and engagement.”
The latest news about Futuresource 2009 (www.futuresourceuk.com), the new event at London ExCeL organised by CIWM in partnership with the Environmental Services Association (ESA), will also be unveiled at the show. Visitors can find out more about the dynamic new conference format and the themed exhibition areas that will also incorporate new sectors such as facilities, energy and water management. With 144 exhibitors already confirmed, and more big names coming on board recently – including Grundon Waste Management, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Johnston Sweepers and Viridor Waste Management – the event is shaping up to be the key diary date for 2009.
