Tax Relief on Subscriptions in the United Kingdom

Under Section 16 of the Finance Act 1958 a member who is an office holder or employee, is entitled to a deduction from the amount of their emoluments assessable to income tax under schedule E of the whole of their annual subscription to the Institution provided that: (a) the subscription is defrayed out of the emoluments of the office or employment, (b) the activities of the Institution are relevant to the office or employment.
