Modern Intelligent Bins
Bin designs have not moved with the times, there has been insufficient study of the disposer or the cleaning operative tasks or the type of litter that needs to be collected. The result is City Centre Bins that do not work in today’s environment and social order standards. They cannot cope with fast food, carbonated drinks, coffee, cigarettes or chewing gum, most of this waste was not around when the conventional closed top bin were designed.
Our thoughtful Patented Multi Litter bin was the accumulation of intensive city centre studies into the habits of disposers and the process of cleaning operatives, The Multi Litter Bin separates litter at the point of disposal, the design predisposes people to use the bin because the existing litter is not visible and a clean appearance is always maintained, a powerful reason why people do not dispose of chewing gum or cigarette butts properly.
We have introduced robust, affordable, technology into the Multi Litter Bin which is optional, when the bin is full the cleaning operative gets a call on a mobile phone advising them of the location of the full bin, simple, but hugely effective use of resources, only full bins get emptied. Depending on City Centre layouts saving of 50% and 75% are easily attained saving many thousands of pounds on a process which is notoriously difficult to manage and measure.
The Multi litter Bin has three separate sections internally, we call them the Wet litter section, the Dry litter section and the Cigarette Butts and Chewing Gum section. The wet litter section is a sealed stainless steel container; this prevents the traditional method of dragging out the liner out of the outer casing and seeping fluids on to the street pavements which eventually turns black with the sugar content and is very difficult to remove. The dry litter section has a light gauge galvanised container which can remain in the Multi litter bin or can be removed for emptying or a plastic bag can be used, the average weight of a litter bag is on average 3 kilos the liner is only 4 kilos, the lift is done in an upright position and is considerably less fatiguing than crouching over a closed top bin to drag out a heavy liner to lift out a bag and push the heavy liner back into position. They are an improved Health and Safety process and less likelihood of back strains. The cigarette and chewing gum section is substantial and can cope with the inevitable increase of this type of litter, what is not understood clearly is the adaptations of closed top bins to have ashtrays on top they can double the workload of the cleaning operative and they now blight the appearance of every town and city as do plastic bins with ugly burn marks with or without stubber plates attached.
